This movie had a tremendous effect on me as a child cuz I wanted to be a "wanna-be", at such a young age I wasn't aware that it was a parody...seeing it as an adult had a much different impact on me, and now I know that you shouldn't want to be a wanna-be.

..this film is a REALISTIC depiction of colorism in the black community...It should make blacks re-examine their self-hatred and desire to eliminate their African features...
