Review of Sand Castle (2017) by Jak-Luke S — 23 Jul 2017
An incredibly hollow and rather bland war story that only touches upon moments of crisis that other films such as The Hurt Locker captured, while this feels as if it's just trying to replicate those effects with disappointing and underwhelming effects.
Performances are ok but why Cavill is in this in not sure, his character serves no purpose and he simply appears then disappears throughout. Every character is incredibly underdeveloped and due to that you have zero engagement with the group and the resulting plot with absolutely no emotion at all.
