Review of Samurai Rebellion (1967) by Ben W — 18 Jan 2010
Another incredible samurai film from kobayashi that relies heavily on the traditional japanese ideal set. mifune isnt necessarily at his absolute best but still has more than enough of his usual stuff to make for a great performance.
family issues, honor, social justice all play a part in the tragic tale. kobayashi knew what he was up to.
