Three stars because it's a little slow. This is not an action movie...it's a dive into a whole different culture that is really interesting. When the action does happen though the suspense is thick.
The tragic ending is unavoidable as the drama unfolds, and it's a little disheartening...other than that an interesting movie for those who enjoy the great Toshiro Mifune.
