Review of Samurai I: Musashi Miyamoto (1954) by Cam S — 31 Mar 2016
Good film starring Toshiro Mifune as a young man who goes into battle with his friend, but after their side loses, they seek shelter with a mother and daughter. After several betrayals and false accusations, Mifune is in the hands of a local monk who teaches him the way of the samurai.
It starts out a little slow, but it's a good movie, and it's the first part of a trilogy. I loved the scene with Mifune in the tree, very well done and memorable. And the costumes, sets, and esecially the score are all great.
And of course, I can't wait to watch the other two film.
