Review of Saint Jack (1979) by Senor C — 09 Jun 2010
Saint Jack is an unheralded little gem. A great character study of Jack Flowers an American pimp in Singapore who is put out of business by the local hoods who ends up running a brothel for GIs & eventually is given the opportunity to make a good chunk of money so he can go home to Buffalo by taking some compromising photos of a political figure.
It's always enthralling & Ben Gazzara is cooler then Bogart. There's some great scenes including one where you will never listen to the theme of Goldfinger quite the same again. This movie should seriously be sought out.
.it's excellent.
