Review of Safe (1995) by Sarah A — 11 Aug 2007
Blending the concepts of horror, sf, and the american household drama 'safe' is one of the most beautifully shot films of the nineties, and one that remains remarkably current as we tend to fill our personal environments with various poisons.
A fantastic performance by moore that truly envisions the anxieties of life in our modern synthetic environments.
Harrowing, gorgeous, justifiably paranoid... it remains of the most terrifying films i've seen and a high mark in haynes' career.
