Review of Sabu (2002) by Jeffrey L — 25 Mar 2008
The DVD cover of Sabu with J-Idols Fujiawara and Tsuambuki in all their beautiful glory, coupled with Miike's notoriety as a filmmaker may cause you to get the wrong idea about Sabu.
Even though the Netflix summary has Sabu as an action drama, it is a somber, contemplative, and beautiful film about friendship. Oh, and it's a period piece. Yes, by Takashi Miike. The versatility of this man is astounding.
