Down and Out in Beverly Hills is the movie that brought Bette Midler's career out of the toilet (after the train wreck, Jinxed); but it was Ruthless People that declared her the star of the decade. From the moment she says her first line "YOU FUCKED WITH THE WRONG PERSON!!!" the audience knew that Bette Midler was back from the dead and back with a vengeance.
The other actors in the film are all up to her standard (God, I miss Anita Morris) and it makes the film a five star venture; it is all because the director did everything just right --.
