Review of Rushmore (1998) by Josh H — 12 Jan 2011
Rushmore is a beautiful film that is directed by the unorthodox film director Wes Anderson who always seems to film a fascinating scene in this film, and does a great job in his direction of the young Jason Schwartzman; who delivers a bittersweet performance of the charismatic Max Fischer.
This film's strongest piece of production is the magnificent screenplay by Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson, who in my opinion isn't credited enough for his writing. This film also offers great performances by Bill Murray and Olivia Williams who are somewhat naturalistic in their respected roles.
A tremendous soundtrack stabilizes the film, and the cinematography exudes a comfortable, well lit surrounding. In conclusion this film deserves your laughter, and your time.
