The overall message I got was that RUBBER was meant to be a slap in the face towards hollywood and the mindless drivel that it produces. either way, the film's first half is very creative and smart but like the main character (robert) it does become something completely different in the end.
Even though everything in the movie happens for "no reason" I respected, accepted and was entertained by it. if the film had to be described in one word that word would be "dadaesque".
