Review of Rosewater (2014) by Brandon W — 10 Feb 2015
Lots of people have heard of Jon Stewart, including me even though I haven't watched The Daily Show before. So when he made a movie called Rosewater, it's very interesting to see how they do with their first movie that they direct and write.
Rosewater is a great debut that really shows what the main character has been through. The plot is good and very interesting, and the acting is terrific. The writing is not bad, and it shows a great chemistry between the main character and the father, and the sister.
There's some really funny moments in it which is no surprise from Jon Stewart. The only problem I had is that the flashbacks, while well done, seem to come out of nowhere and it took me out of the movie a bit.
But even with that, I think Jon Stewart did an amazing job with his directing and writing debut, and fans of Jon Stewart probably won't be disappointed.
