Review of Rosenstrasse (2003) by Darren D — 23 Apr 2009
Another in a series of German films about coming to terms with the Nazi past. This one by veteran director Margerethe von Trotta is based on the true story of the protests of the Rosenstrasse women to the planned deportation of their jewish husbands.
It is most interesting when it deals with the contemporary reactions of those involved and their children to the traumatic events of the Nazi past.
