Review of Roman (2006) by Twitch — 25 Aug 2008
In an interesting role reversal, Angela Bettis directs her director from "May", Lucky McKee, in this tale of a disturbed loner and the women unlucky enough to encounter him. While McKee is a better director than he is an actor, his unpolished performance works for this role.
Kristen Bell is good in her brief appearance, and Nectar Rose does a fine job as Roman's free-spirited neighbor. Angela Bettis seems to have made the decision to stay out of the way of her actors.
I'll be interested to see what she directs in the future now that she has this under her belt.
