Review of Resident Evil: Damnation (2012) by Erik N — 23 Sep 2012
The CGI Resident Evil movies have been far superior to the theatrical releases, and actually follow and set up the plots of the video game series quite well. It sticks to one type of mechanic for the infection for the most part (Las Plagas), while offering a couple of throwbacks to those who have played the original three games (T-Virus).
Resident Evil: Damnation offers a lot of insight leading into the 6th game installment due October 2nd. The plot stays on track and consistent throughout, and builds on the previous installment's (Resident Evil: Degeneration) wrap ups.
All in all, if you're a fan of the video game series and are fed up with the theatrical releases, this has a good chance at being a sigh of relief, or, in the least, it won't pull your strings enough that you'd wish you could enter a cannibalistic rage.
