Review of Reds (1981) by Vera R — 21 Jun 2007
I was pleasantly surprised with how much I really enjoyed and appreciated this movie. Warren Beatty directed one heck of a war epic without ever really showing fighting and gun violence. More of a war of words and ideas, "Reds" shows Jack Reed's involvement in the Bolshevik Revolution.
The tangible chemistry between Beatty and Keaton made the more intimate moments of the film that much better. This movie is proof why some actors make fine directors... Beatty's opus is masterful and beautifully shot - amazing cinematography!!
