Review of RED (2010) by Matthew L — 10 Dec 2014
The paranoid-thriller meets action-comedy. The point of the movie seems to be emphasizing how cool these ex-spies are, in spite of being old. A few of the action scenes are good but many of them are too ridiculous and over-the-top for the tone of the film.
The story doesn't have too many twists or turns; it's just a straight-through, matter-of-fact adventure story with little foreshadowing. But the actors are clearly having fun, their quips are quite funny, and the flick does have some redeeming entertainment value.
