Review of Rabid Grannies (1988) by David A — 18 May 2009
Reminiscent of Lamberto Bava's work with a little of Jackson and Raimi's early work thrown in, although, not nearly as successful (stylistic or commercially). The film attempts to walk the line of comedy and straight horror but fails on both counts.
Sure, it's campy, but not in an entertaining way (I'm not one to like a film because of it's lack of quality, some may argue that this film is "so bad it's good")- and that's saying a lot: the title alone immediately renders expectations as low as possible.
