Review of Rabid Grannies (1988) by Justin C — 26 Sep 2009
What can I say about Rabid Grannies? First of all they aren't grannies, they're aunties. Second, the dubbing is so bad that it's great. And third, it's a campy bloodbath with plenty of tasteless deaths.
It's about a pair of rich old biddies and they're obnoxious relatives who all arrive at their old mansion for a birthday celebration. A present from their estranged satanist nephew turns the old ladies into bloodthirsty demons who then go on a rampage.
Sure, the plot isn't original in the least, but the energy and the tasteless carnage more than make up for it. The American version is chopped of a lot of it's more gruesome scenes, but there's still plenty of mayhem left over, plus you can find unedited versions online, if you're interested (and if you're into splatter then you probably are).
