Review of Rabbit Hole (2010) by Victor D — 28 Apr 2011
Rabbit Hole is a excellent film about dealing with loss and the pain that goes with that loss. It is a crime that it was not nominated for best picture when The Kids Are Alright was.
Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart give magnificent performances as parents who have recently lost their four year old son in a accident. Finding it hard to function at the basic level they drift further and further away from each other as they each find different ways of grieving.
This is a story about love and loss, finding strength to move on abs what that entails and remembering our loved ones even when it's almost impossible to do so without breaking down.
Be warned this film is very heavy. It is very realistic in the way it portrays this couples situation. It is not a "Hollywood" movie where things always work out. There is no magic solution to the problems. It may be to much for people who have lost someone recently.
It is one of the best films if 2010,.
