Review of Quality Street (1937) by Keenan S — 02 Mar 2013
This film considered to be one of the worst films Katharine Hepburn ever made, and even she herself disliked it by describing it as being "no good" in her autobiography. Quality Street is a peculiar film in Katharine Hepburn's filmography, but I really enjoyed this quirky and strange romantic comedy.
While the script is somewhat of a mess, the cast keeps the film lively, especially Hepburn who embraces the goofy moments gleefully. It's also surprisingly funny since I laughed quite a few times while watching it.
Overall, I think it is a very underrated and very enjoyable romantic comedy. It's much better than what people give it credit for.
