This movie took me by surprise. A suppressed, repressed, Roman Catholic woman living in a sort of middle-class community. She discovers she has an extraordinary talent. A man who helps her discover this becomes Her lover.
Stop now because this is the spoiler. She not only finds her self, she destroys her self and then becomes the butterfly She always was- supported by her sons but leaving the men in her life to the side .
This is not, definitely not, abstory about someone awakening and straightening out their life. Or, maybe I'm wrong...
