I really hoped for this movie to be better. The story was a little shaky, as were the characters. More time and focus on one or both would have helped things along a great deal.
Visually the movie was realistic, the idea very intriguing, and special effects weren't over the top. Definitely something I would love to see more of.
The biggest problem of this movie was probably that the idea was big, but only fractions of it were shown; I felt like I was missing some important information. Things were explained, make no mistake, but not in enough depth to erase the feeling that this could have been a movie based on a book, game, etc., and I just weren't familiar with the source.
The cast was good, the acting decent; it seemed the characters were left a little hollow, so that's not where the lack of established plot details went either, sadly.
