Review of Pulse (2001) by David D — 17 Nov 2009
Remakes of Asian horror films are often quite inferior, but this one manages to improve on the original. It conveys the same themes and has the same aura of creepiness that the were so excellent in the Japanese original.
The original was a surreal tale of slowly building horror but what it was all about was never clear. While ultimately mystifying as to just what is going on, this version is much stronger on plot and not so confusing.
