Review of Prince of the City (1981) by Mike M — 03 Dec 2011
Director Sidney Lumet weaves a lengthy, complicated tale that - despite being difficult to follow at times - nonetheless demands your unwavering attention until the bitter end. The story focuses on a dirty cop wanting to come clean and rid the force of corruption (without ratting on his partners).
As the story moves on, however, it becomes apparent that to save himself, he may have no other choice. Treat Williams plays a strong lead, with a brilliant supporting cast including several recognizable faces.
The underrated Lumet delivers again. Ya gotta love 70s flicks.
