More of a drama than a typical Van Damme action film, but not like Until Death, this does have some nicely done action sequences.
However, some moments where they clearly used a green screen was terribly done.
And the ending ruined what could have been a more upbeat ending. Yes, unexpected but it wasn't necessary either. I expected better from the director that brought us Van Damme's recent action crime thrillers Assassination Games and Six Bullets, which were better in the way they were paced with how they ended.
Still, it's more proof that Van Damme has got better at acting since he surprised us with JCVD, fitting it in with his recent action films actually makes them better, especially when they're more dark themed like this one.
Also, the late Darren Shahlavi did a good job at playing the main villain, it's a shame that he has passed away because his role in this seemed like he would of had a good future in action films.
