Stunning. Simply extraordinary. Bale in this fim starts off this epic saga with such ferocity, I found myself in shambles exiting the theater. The way he caressed the role proves how determined he is to leave his Batman role behind him, bracing the new frontier of Horror. From the very start of this film, I could tell I was witnessing the birth of a cult classic like those of Frank Perry and Michael Lehmann. Bales performance is remnant of his 1989 role as the teen heart throb in Heathers, bring a warm sense of familiarity and comfort to the audience that only true classics can.
10/10 would see again.
