Review of Piper (2016) by Harshith J — 31 Oct 2016
Good refection on shorebird's behavior and magic of Disney.
What you see in this short is what actually happens on shores where the waders(shorebirds) forage regularly. The adult bird is teaching it's offspring to forage for itself and the chick's attachment to it's mother was well-portrayed. The chick initially is skeptical of foraging along with saving itself from waves. But eventually masters technique, to pick up the clam shells, that is not known by its own kind.
The graphics is amazing and is very realistic. The animation technology is getting advanced each day and this one looks like a live-action adaptation.
Disney/Pixar animators are getting more creative with each movie. In this one, they have tried to understand and implement shorebird behavior. Hope they portray such behaviors in future animations with accurate facts instead of depicting only emotional or moral story.
