Review of Pinocchio (1940) by Jonathan M — 02 Aug 2009
Pinocchio is a beautiful film based on a story with a significant lesson for all children and even adults. The movie is really entertaining, charming and touching but when it has to be cruel, sad or tough it achieves its intentions perfectly, I couldn't help being sorry about the poor boys converted into dunkeys for being bad boys or when Pinochio was locked in a cage by the villainous Stromboli.
The evil whale Monstro is the perfect mix of Moby Dick with Jonas' one. I guess it stole the picture with the last action scene where Gepetto and Pinocchio faced danger and death.
