Review of Pina (2011) by Simone H — 05 Jan 2012
I dare to call it the best movie of 2011.
Just perfect, vibrant, dazzling and far the best 3D movie of 2011, because of the purpose this 3D has: make the audience feel as watching a real dance spectacle, the viewer gets the sense of spaciousness that the dancers have on stage, in the streets, in cafà (C)s and outdoors.
Great soundtrack and art direction. Loved the dancers, the choreographies and the soul of Pina Bausch that is present in the whole movie.
Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly.
"So this is what 3-D is capable of when used for art rather than the commerce of hiking ticket prices and repurposing cartoons!".
Richard Corliss, TIME Magazine.
"Pina is, in every way, a moving experience.".
