My film tutor (female) said after this movie was shown in class that men don't get this movie...I agree a man just wouldn't. This is complex, deep and very haunting...there are just so many interpretations and so many theories that you can come up with.
Bergman is pure genius in that he has drawn out a woman's psychosis so clearly. As for the male viewers who don't get this movie...consider it a woman...you don't get us either :) Did I mention this movie still spooks me after having seen it 7 years ago? :D.
