Review of Pearl Jam Twenty (2011) by Ryan V — 08 Jan 2012
Superb rockumentary on one of the greatest American rock bands of all and directed by Cameron Crowe, who clearly is in love with his subject matter. It chronicles the early years (Andy Wood/pre-Eddie Vedder) as Mother Love Bone, the breakthrough of Ten, and the continued success even in the post Grunge world.
You get lots of inside info and moments from all of the guys. There are a lot of funny spots too, such as Stone Gossard finding his Grammy Award in his basement, the bands drunken hooligan performance for the Singles Scene party, and Eddie Vedder climbing 50 feet of scaffolding to sing during a concert while his bandmates continue to play with horrified expressions on their faces.
I can't recommend this any more highly.
