Review of Patti Cake$ (2017) by Holly H — 06 Dec 2018
This is the kind of movie that makes you care about the lead with your whole heart and want to call people to tell them about it after the end credits. The music is a unique blend of modern rap and classic rock, that feels very fresh.
The characters practically glow neon among to grey impoverished setting. Bridget Everett is electrifying, but the lead draws you in with her heart and resilience in a seemingly hopeless struggle to be celebrated.
The grand finale isn't the type you'd expect and yet still had me Bursting with glee. Loved loved loved This movie!
