Review of Patrik, Age 1.5 (2008) by Sue S — 22 Aug 2012
This Swedish production has nothing to do with "The Kids Are All Right", Mr Wesley Morris - if you compare it with the other film, then every film that has to do with couples, families and the problems in them would be following the same scheme, and I'm sure there's a good lot that fall into that frame.
I like it very much, it is not just optimistic, it also doesn't lose the sense for reality, Mrs Hornaday, as the negative reactions and prejudices of neighbours and other characters come through along the whole film.
It just proves to me again that, if American productions would be given much less preference to films from other parts of the world, people would become much more aware that European and Asian and African and Latin-American films can be just as good if not even better than many of the bulk goods that come from Hollywood.
