Review of Pathfinder (1987) by F0Xy H — 02 Feb 2010
Think of a combination of "300" and "Last of the Mohicans"...and you'll get this movie. Pristine America (about 900 A.D.) is being explored by bands of Viking warriors and the native populations are in their way.
A young Viking child is discovered on a beached ship and raised by a native family. He grows to manhood among the peaceful Indians but always feels "different". Soon the Vikings return and he is forced to choose which culture he truly belongs to.
A major battle ensues as each culture battles for supremacy in the new land. And in the end, a new "pathfinder" (leader of the tribes) is selected to guide the people. Rated it 4 stars because of the fight scenes.
The acting was alright but the plot was a bit thin at times.
