Review of Pariah (2011) by Travis H — 05 Jan 2012
A familiar story told through a character we haven't seen before: a butch, middle-class African-American lesbian. A simple yet highly-effective, complicated and messy tale about finding your truth and being who you know you are.
The acting is great and the lead character, Alike, is instantly likeable and relatable. You don't have to be black, gay and/or female to appreciate this coming-of-age/coming out movie.
