Review of Paradise Now (2005) by Warren T — 09 Nov 2007
A great film. This film reflects the Palestinian side of the Arab-Israeli conflict. I believe the message Hany Abu-Assad tries to convey in the film is that Palestinian resistance in the form of terrorism is not beneficial what so ever.
Palestinian terrorism only prompts an Israeli response, which further worsens Palestinian conditions in the territories. Therefore there must be another form of Palestinian resistance which preaches non-violence(suha advocates this position in the film), making any Israeli response completely unjust.
Ghandi did it against an oppressive British regime, why can't the Palestinians?
