Review of Paradise: Love (2012) by Dave B — 21 Jun 2013
Not a stranger to controversy, Seidl's story is a little too driven by its subject, which feels a little two dimensional and lacking in real depth. The photography is the best element of the film, with its meticulous still camera placement, horizontal lines and pastel like shots of the Kenyan landscape; nevertheless thematically speaking it seems like a gimmick film more than a genuinely compelling study on sex tourism or even the illusion of love.
