Review of Paradise: Hope (2013) by Richard I — 22 Jul 2018
Though the style of filming is an acquired taste (that I do not necessarily have), there is no doubting the skill of the film-maker and the sincerity of his desire to show the darkest side of love and passion.
Easily the most successful of the trilogy, for me, it shows a very different side of the potentially disastrous adult-child sexual attraction trope, one that I would suggest has never been seen before and may never be seen again, which makes it worth investigating for that alone.
Ultimately what is astonishing about the film is how it engages you on the side of the potential child molester and leaves you at the end feeling a little sorry for him.
