Review of Outlaw (2007) by Phil S — 23 Jul 2007
Although it has its shortcomings, especially in the "annoying shakey cam" department given this was filmed on some kind of video format (HDV is my guess), the film is otherwise spectacular. Sean is in top form, Bob is great, the whole cast giving top-notch work.
But the main treat is the vibe and atmosphere and mood. The almost apocalyptic view of a failing system that's getting worse and worse (living in America, I can relae to this in a matter), you have the amazing brutality of every physical beating, and you have the male brotherhood vibe of the third act which is kind of Peckinpah-esque, but not fully.
It's a good flick and worth seeing!
