Review of Our Daily Bread (2006) by Lesa P — 29 Sep 2007
This is the "Baraka" and the "An inconvenient truth" of the food chain production and earth food resources. In a way it feels like an over-extended version of one of Baraka's film's parts.
We see animals being slaughtered and fruits and plants harvested non-stop to give us a glimpse of how much of this stuff is consumed each day around the world. How much more can the planet Earth take from our insatiable consumption ?? It feels like a rape film, where all men do is take, take, take from it and we never see any of them giving anything back.
..Desolate for the soul, specially when all the life and beauty that comes out of it is taken and used and wasted. We truly are in the Garden of Paradise, but no-one wants to be its keeper.
