Sever any ties with the novel before viewing this film, for they are incredibly dissimilar. Aside from its descrepancies with the novel, the film is incredible. The cinematic techniques may be offputting for some, but it heightens the overall experience.
The mirror scene has stayed with me for many years and -- while I hate connecting book and film -- I've returned to it every time I've read Orlando since viewing this film...
