Review of Ong Bak 2 (2008) by Connee S — 11 Oct 2009
I don't think it quite lives up to Ong Bak or Tom Yum Goong, but dammit it still has Tony Jaa and Tony Jaa is one of the most amazing young martial arts performers working today.
The story isn't particularly groundbreaking, it's pretty much the kind of setups anyone whose watched a lot of martial arts movies has seen countless times, but the choreography and execution is brilliant, and even if darker grittier angrier Tony Jaa isn't quite as charming as his previous incarnations, once the film kicks into gear there isn't a lot of time left for thinking about explanations or plot holes.
