Review of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) by Patrick D — 13 Feb 2009
3 stars?! Really?? I always loved Lazenby as Bond, and Savalas as Blofeld, and honestly, this movie gets better the more I watch it. Seriously, its offers up every Bond trademark in spades. The hot girl (hottest, in this case), great chase sequences, a memorable theme song (by Louis Armstrong, no less), a plot to eliminate a large population, and the usual one-liners, that are actually so subtle and clever in this Bond movie that I chuckled out loud more than a few times.
Honestly though, the ending is what makes the movie so enjoyable, and damn tragic. You watch this and almost wonder if Daniel Craig only saw this film as he studied the character of James Bond. In the end, We Have All the Time in the World.
