Review of Okja (2017) by Kk O — 30 Jun 2018
I signed up just to write this review. This is probably one of the most powerful FOOD movies I've ever seen. It's so brilliantly humanises the issues of commercial animal farming, genetically modifying food and sums it up with one line "if it's cheap enough, they'll buy it".
... I watched this with my 9 year old vegetarian daughter. We both held hands and cried our way through this film. This was so confronting and it did it in such a way that wasn't preachy.... it wasn't soapboxy, it just was a story about a girl and her pig and all along the way, they touched on points that hit every relevant and salient point that matters in the food argument today.
So worth watching!
