Review of Off the Map (2003) by Mel M — 13 Jan 2006
I thought I'd written a review of this a long time ago when I saw it three times on the big screen, but that seems to have disappeared.
For those who weren't lucky enough to see the STUNNING cinematography on the big screen, it's still well worth catching on DVD!! It's a beautiful, quirky story with a unique sensibility from Campbell Scott and truly outstanding performances by the entire cast!!
I wasn't put off in the least by its stage roots. The dialog worked fine for me as a film. I just absolutely loved it & talked about it incessantly around Santa Monica when it was showing here last summer.
