Sad tale of an unsuccesful attempt in pre-war Europe to be the first the climb the north face of the Eiger. The cinematography alone is worth the admission price, how they shot some of the mountain scenes when things go wrong is a mystery.
A great take of daring and hardship, and I think - insanity with a heavy cost.
