Review of Nora Prentiss (1947) by Allan C — 17 Jul 2015
Okay melodrama/sudo-film noir about a Mildred Pierce type of character. Ann Sheridan plays a nightclub singer who hooks up with married doctor Kent Smith, which then leads to her enduring all sorts of ups and downs and indignities.
Smith got top billing in the film, so I'm not quite sure if he was supposed to be the main characte because Sheridan clearly steals the film. Now considered a "woman's noir," it's not a classic like Pierce, but it's certainly worth checking out.
