Review of New York, I Love You (2008) by George B — 25 Mar 2010
I don't care what people say about this film, I was simply fascinated by it. Way beyond my expectations and may I say better than "Paris, Je T'aime." Even the Brett Ratner part was surprisingly good.
More interesting transitions and fulfilled what I had imagined to be in the Big Apple. My favorite is Fatih Akin, it was as hauntingly beautiful as his feature films. The second is Anthony Minghella (as he was gonna direct it), it was also beautifully finished by Shekhar Kapur after Minghella's sudden death and subtly acted by Christie, Hurt and even LaBeouf.
The third is Yvan Attal's divided parts which came to a full circle in the end. I'm glad Scarlett Johansson's part didn't make it in the cut, I believe it would've ruined the collaboration.
