Review of Nebraska (2013) by Marcellus E — 01 Mar 2014
Out of all of this year's Best Picture nominees (for the Oscars), Nebraska was the last of them I saw. In that case, I may have saved the best for last. Bruce Dern nails his role as a man who tries to find a way to Nebraska to collect a million dollar prize he thinks he won.
Will Forte plays his son, who agrees to take him even though he knows that the million dollars is a scam. Nonetheless, Forte completely shocked me. The rest of the cast is also good. A fantastic screenplay is also what contributes to making this film good.
There were moments where I was laughing hard and remaining interested in what was going on onscreen. Overall, Nebraska is one of the funniest and most original films that I've seen in awhile. Definitely deserves its' Best Picture nominee.
